Membership of the Society is open to all persons, whether living in Ireland or abroad. Membership is also open to corporate and state bodies such as libraries and educational institutions.

Membership entitles you to attend all public meetings, including the AGM, of the Society and to receive notification of all public events organised by the Society i.e. lectures, excursions, and book launches. Members receive a complimentary copy of the Society’s journal which is published annually and online access to the Ireland Collection of journals and periodicals held by the JSTOR digital repository. In addition, members enjoy preferential rates on the purchase of back issues of the Society’s journal and other publications and on participation in Society excursions

The current membership fee is €20.00 for a calendar year. Members of more than ten years standing have the option of purchasing life membership for the sum of €200.00.
