The speaker for this lecture is Professor Roger Stalley, a Fellow Emeritus of Trinity College where he was formerly Professor of the History of Art. He is also the author the essay about the architecture and history of Mellifont Abbey in the recently published Louth History and Society.

In this lecture he will discuss Monasterboice, focusing on the unknown medieval sculptor – dubbed the ‘Muiredach master’ – whose work includes the extraordinary Muiredach’s Cross at Monasterboice.

The lecture will be held in the Boyne Valley Hotel in Drogheda (Eircode A92 EY89) on Thursday 21 November 2024 at 8 p.m.
