The society’s annual all-day coach excursion for 2019 will be held on Saturday 29th June. This year’s destination is Portumna in Co Galway and the trip will include visits to the Irish Workhouse Centre, Portumna Castle & Gardens and Portumna Priory.

Coach pickup points and times are:

• 8.30 a.m. sharp from Dundalk (Magnet Cinema, Mulholland Avenue)
• 9.00 a.m. from Drogheda (Carpark at Homebase on the Donore Road)

The subscription (including bus fare, evening meal, admission charges and gratuities) is:

• €65.00 for members
• €67.00 for non-members

The morning stop for coffee/tea & scones will be at Tyrrellspass Castle and the evening meal on the return trip will be in the Bloomfield Hotel in Mullingar.

Intending travellers are recommended to bring a flask and food pack for a picnic lunch at Portumna. Suitable footwear is advised for the gardens at Portumna.
