The final summer excursion for 2023 will be an evening visit to Faughart.
The Hill of Faughart is rich in history. The excursion, led by Don Johnston, will include the principal historic features in the area, including
- Faughart graveyard including
- St Brigid’s Well
- Medieval Chuch
- Base of Faughart Round Tower
- The attributed burial place of Edward Bruce
- Faughart Motte
- St Brigid’s Shrine Faughart
