The Life and Times and Demise of Nano Reid (1900-81)

Well known community historian Mr Brendan Matthews will present a lecture on the life of artist Nano Reid.

Nano Reid, who was born and died in Drogheda, is remembered as one of Ireland’s finest artists. Her work, which includes landscapes, figure painting and portraits, was recently featured in a major exhibition at the Highlanes Gallery marking the 40th anniversary of her death. Brendan has contributed to the research of her life and he has led a number of walking tours of Drogheda describing the artist’s connection with the town and the town’s influence on her work.

The lecture will be held in The Barbican in Drogheda on Tuesday 8 November 2022 at 8.00p.m.
