An evening visit to Glaspistol Castle, near Clogherhead.
The late medieval tower house at Glaspistol was built by the Dowdall family and appears to date from the late fifteenth- or early sixteenth- centuries. On the first floor (east facing side) is a former twin-light mullioned window, with a carved animal, the subject of a recent article in our Journal.
The visit will be on Thursday 21 July 2022, at 6.30 p.m.
Access to the castle is by kind permission of the Markey family.
Advance booking is required. Numbers are limited so early booking is advised. Cost €10.
Places must be pre-booked by contacting
